Beginning in Spring 2010 the Ames Downtown Farmers' Market (ADFM) is starting a new Community
Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, open to public subscription.
The aim of this program is to better serve ADFM vendors, members and customers by strengthening the
connection between consumer and producer, reducing the time it takes for food crops to travel from farm to
fork; and providing customers with the best in locally-grown produce. It is also the aim of the ADFM to help
support farm families as they undertake the difficult task of growing chemical-free food crops for locally-based
consumers.
What You Will Receive Each Week
Each week you will receive a box of fresh, locally-grown produce. You have paid for these through your
subscription fees. The content of the box will depend on two things: what you have selected from our list on
the other side of this brochure and what is in season. Once you have paid the registration and share fees, no
other subscription payments are necessary throughout the twenty weeks of the program.
All items on the Weekly Add-on List are priced separately. Payment for these items, if selected by you, are
due when you pick up your box. The same is true should you choose to purchase any Special Add-ons. These
items will be advertised in your box and on the CSA page of the market website from time-to-time. Please note
that there is a deadline of Monday midnight for Special Add-on items ordered for the following Saturday. This
gives our producers and artisans ample time to provide you with the freshest product possible.
Other than produce, each week you will find a newsletter consisting of recipes, and tips on matters like the
preparation, storage and freezing of various fruit & vegetables.
As always, you are welcome to browse our markets - indoor and outside - and purchase whatever you like. In
fact, we encourage
you to do so
Full Share - $350. 3 to 4 individuals
20 weeks of produce beginning May 22
Average cost: $17.50/week
Half Share - $216. 1 to 2 individuals

In addition, there is a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee when you submit this form.

Payment Options: The $50.00 registration fee is payable when you submit your form. The deadline for
subscription fees is May 5th. Although we would prefer that all subscribers pay their full fees by May 5, you
may pay the first half by then with the remainder due on July 1st. Note: This payment plan does not include
the initial $50.00 fee By paying the first half you are committing to pay the full cost by the July 1st due date..
Your registration will be accepted under the assumption of full participation and payment only.
Pick Up Times: CSA members may pick up their boxes anytime between 10am and 1pm on Saturdays at the
Ames Downtown Farmers' Market. The market is located at the old Train Depot on Main Street next to Hy-Vee
Drugstore.
Pick Up Policy If you are unable to pick up your box because of vacation or illness, you may designate
someone else to pick it up for you. You must let us know in advance who that person will be. Or, if you agree,
we can send that week's box to a local charity that prepares meals for those in need.
